Lenten Opportunities at Somesville Union Meeting House

In the midst of our hectic lives, the season of Lent can provide pause, an opportunity for spiritual growth and enrichment to occur. Lent can be a season of change: of heart, of perspective, of focus, of opening oneself so the new life - trans-formation- may come to birth. The following possibilities for spiritual deepening are being offered:
Almost But Not Quite: Several books not included in the Hebrew Bible found their way into the first Greek translations of scriptures.  Some Christians consider these part of the Bible, others don't. A relaxed discussion in the Pastor's office Mondays from 10:30-12:00 followed by a bring-your-own lunch (beverages provided). Mar. 4 "Tobit",  Mar.11 "Bel and the Dragon" Mar.18 "Sirach". Rev. Don Ashmall.

Soul Rest Contemplative Prayer Group gathers Tuesdays from 2:00-3:15 in the Pastor's office Our time together includes brief prayerful reading, sitting quietly for 20 minutes, walking meditatively for 5 minutes and returning to silent resting in the Presence for 20 minutes. An opportunity for sharing follows. Persons wishing to experience Soul Rest are welcome at any time.

Bible Reflection: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Wednesdays of the month 3:30 -5:00pm at the Alcyon Center. For other offerings check the website:
